Weight Loss

Do you dread your yearly trip to the physician’s office? If you’re like most people, you do. Not because you fear having yet another vaccination or because you’re worried that you will have to undergo some horrific procedure, but because you are worried that your doctor is going to recommend that you lose weight.

It’s the same old argument almost every time someone who is overweight visits a physician. The nurse weighs you and notes the weight on her chart. The physician then comes in and asks if you’ve been exercising and what you’ve been eating. They then recommend that you lose weight, but give you no idea as to how to lose the pounds that they want you to shed. What are you supposed to do?

Not So Easy

If losing weight were easy, everyone would be dropping their extra pounds rather quickly. Instead, hundreds of thousands of people spend millions on different diet pills and slimming drinks, all in the effort to lose weight so that they can be healthier. These special diets, however, do not often work. They try to treat the calories that are going into the body without treating the reason that there are extra calories going into the body.

The truth is that most of us do not gain weight because we’re actively trying, but instead we gain weight because we overeat without even knowing that we’re doing it! This is the reason that the majority of diet pills and drinks do not work to treat someone who is overweight – the mind is much more powerful than the body is.

Mind Over Matter

Have you ever heard the phrase “mind over matter”? It basically means that if you focus on something hard enough, you’ll be able to control it. This, in many ways, is extremely true. The problem, however, is that even the mind has weak spots – chinks in the armor, if you will. These weaknesses come in many forms, such as:

·         Control – some people struggle to maintain as much control as possible in their lives. If they don’t have control over the situations they are in, they find themselves overeating or trying to control other things in their life.

·         Connections – studies have been done that have shown that animals and people who lack specific connections actually suffer physically. Some people eat more when they’re feeling a loss or a lack of connections.

·         Security – in today’s society, almost nothing is secure anymore. This lack of security can propel people to overeat, making them gain weight.

·         Intimacy – a lack of intimacy is very much like a lack of connection, but it is one of the most important connections there is. Feeling a lack of intimacy can be very difficult to overcome, and it can cause a host of problems.

What You Can Do

So you know that diet pills and drinks don’t work. What, then, can you do in order to lose weight? Hypnosis often works extremely well for people who are overweight because it works by treating the root of the problem, not the results themselves. Once the chink in the armor has been repaired using hypnosis, you can allow yourself to lose weight naturally and easily, without any suffering or struggling.
